July 4th

Decided to see the fireworks show in San Diego, something they are famous four. There are actually about 4 events on the main bay itself but we decided to take a harbor cruise boat onto the one that would show off the main event in the middle of the bay with the San Diego skyline in the background. The event was spectacular even if a bit short at about 17 minutes. This was definitely worth the cost and I am likely to do this even again, perhaps next year.

I took this photo from my hotel room at the Westin in Gaslamp Quarter. I liked the way the geometric shapes and colors played off each other between the dome…

One of the 4 tugboats positioning the fireworks barges. This was the barge that provided the fireworks for the photos to follow.

These two guys must have been traveling at over 50 mile per hour.

The boat is leaving dock and headed for a brief trip around the bay before positioning itself in the middle of the bay for the fireworks event.
