St Rémy de Provence

Probably my favorite village in Provence. I love market day on Wednesdays and there is plenty of shops and restaurants to to cater to needs of anyone. It is also famous for Van Gogh, who stayed in the nearby Monastery of Saint-Paul de Mausole.
About St Rémy.
You have to arrive early to park in the parking lot behind this statute. The parking lot is located in the city center and close to everything.
St Martin Church. Built in the 14th Century.
Market day is on Wednesdays. Did not visit St Rémy on this day, but you could still find some of the locals selling their products.
Tapenades is a specialty in Provence.
The fruits and vegetables are brought in fresh daily from the neighboring farms.
Truffles are also another food item that is plentiful in Provence.
The truffles are quite large and definitely cheaper than what you can find in the States.
People here are used to buying what they need on the day that they need it. It is fun to see someone heading home with a half a watermelon and the kids begging…
The Provencal hams are very good and not too salty.

Chez Mamine. Had lunch here, baked chicken over mashed potatoes. It was okay given it caters to tourists and not locals.
Heading back to the parking lot to return to Moulin de la Roque.
Back at the parking lot.
Right next to the parking lot is a merry go round that is the favorite of kids.
